About Me

My Story

I'm an editor because I love it. I love getting into the nitty gritty of ellipses and parenthesis: yes, they might look tiny, but they are bigger on the inside. I believe I have a talent for seeing the potential in a story, no matter how rough. There is nothing more fun than watching a story reach new heights, and even the little stuff like grammar and punctuation can get it there.

Like every good copyeditor, I stick to the Chicago Manual of Style (because they are the boss of me) and Merriam-Webster. And I am a habitual style guide creator.

I received a BA degree in English with a creative writing emphasis from UVU. While I was getting my degree, I edited with the student speculative journal for two and half years, and in doing so I found my calling. In the years since, I've edited and formatted for many amazing authors all over the world and across a variety of genres, and I also contract edit and proofread for companies such as Looseleaf Editorial & Production, Splinter Press, Bookshark, Exploding Kittens Inc., and DC comics.

In my spare time I play tabletop games with my family, read, and try to avoid cooking. A few books I consider classics: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Persuasion by Jane Austen, Charly by Jack Weyland, The Nine Lives of Christopher Chant by Diana Wynne Jones, The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, Enchantment by Orson Scott Card, The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Hope Was Here by Joan Bauer.
